New Concrete Forming System Introduced
Masonry and general building contractors in the Seattle area who use plywood for concrete forming can now rent plywood in prefabricated "Mod-U-Forms" from Patent Scaffolding Co., division of Harsco Corporation. Leonard M. Welborn, PSCo. manager of the Seattle branch office, announced that the Mod-U-Form concrete forming system is now available for rental from his office and warehouse located at 8111 First Ave. South in Seattle. According to Welborn, the system saves a considerable amount of lumber and labor by utilizing reusable, prefabricated metal-frame plywood forms for concrete construction.
Apprentice Contest
Jimmy Chaudoin of Sandoz Masonry and Douglas Reid of Birmingham Masonry were the winners of the annual apprentice contest sponsored by the Phoenix Bricklaying Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee. The ten apprentices participating in the contest were honored at a banquet in Scottsdale.
