"Winch Up" Mason Lift
Mason-Lift is a new winch-up hoisting mechanism being introduced by Bil-Jax, Inc. to mason contractors for use on conventional tubular steel scaffolding. In use, these easy-operating units permit the mason, his material supply, and also the mason tender, to ride upwards, as the wall goes up. The material shelf and personnel platforms are always at the desired working level, without stopping or back-bending. To make continuous elevating platforms, the units may be used in series of two or more, spaced 7 apart. Workmen never need to leave the platform as they ride up. Positive acting, easily reached safety devices are provided, for the Mason-Lift which is useable on most 5-ft. wide scaffold frames of open-end or step-type design. Literature, prices and operating procedures are available on request to: Bil-Jax, Inc., Archbold, Ohio 43502.
Grout & Mortar Pump
Thomsen's new trailer mounted A7M Concrete, Grout and Mortar Pump features an "Adjusta-Mix" manifold which can be adjusted to fine tune the pump for variances in mixes (weight, density, slump, etc.), balancing the pump's capabilities with the material to be pumped to obtain near optimum pumping performance.
The A7M is powered by a 30 horse-power, 4 cylinder, air cooled Wisconsin engine and pumps up to 28 cubic yards per hour. Its reciprocating piston, crank and cam drive, when combined with the exclusive "Adjusta-Mix" manifold, produce an even flow of material with limited pulsation and greater size and percentage of aggregate.
The operator of this pump can control the flow of material by either a remote control switch, with a 250 foot cord, or from the main control panel on the pump, which can override the remote control switch.

Durable Level
Fully exposed aluminum edges, top and bottom, add protection to an extremely durable new level made of urethane. Although the Pro Urethane Level has the appearance of expensive wood, it offers none of the disadvantages. Urethane cannot warp or splinter, and remains unaffected by weather conditions. Patented by Pro Products Inc., Rockford, III., the Ultimate model urethane level comes in 3 sizes, 48", 42", and 24" in length. All feature an interior I-beam of aluminum, accurate bubble type vials, convenient hand holes or grips, and protective plastic end caps. The manufacturer states this level has been specially designed to endure rough handling and bad weather common on construction jobs. For more information, contact Pro Products Inc., P.O. Box 392, Rockford, III. 61111.
Instant Building
Kelly Klosure Systems, Inc., of Fremont, Nebraska, manufacturer of construction enclosure systems, has developed a new system for fast erection of clear-span, temporary storage or work buildings.
The new system, appropriately christened as the "Instant Building", incorporates the use of a special "gable package" which has been added to the present line of standard-sized Kelly Klosure panels. When used in conjunction with the standard interlocking panels, the gable package lends itself to the creation of a sturdy, clear-spon, permanent-like structure; yet the temporary and reusable characteristics inherent in the individual panels themselves are still maintained.
The Instant Building is available in 20-foot or 44-foot wide gable ends; 8-feet or 12-feet in height: and in lengths varying in 12-foot increments up to 60 feet. On the 44-foot wide building, the roof is supported by lightweight trusses. The truss channel members are shipped prefabricated for easy assembly on the ground.
One feature of the truss design is that it creates a 3-inch panel overhang to facilitate good water run-off.
TubeLox Simplified Scaffold
A simplified scaffold that has only four components is being used on the 213-ft-high County Records Building in Riverside, Calif. The scaffold, known as TubeLox, is supplied by Patent Scaffolding Co., 2125 Center Ave., Fort Lee, N.J. 07024. It consists of a pipe, a standard coupler, an adjustable coupler, and a base or caster foot.
The secret of its simplicity is the pipe. This pipe has a bayonet-type locking device on one end and a receiving device on the other. The two interlock to form a continuous tube. These tubes are then joined vertically and horizontally by the couplers. The base or caster supplies the feet.
Flexible Coupling
Difficult pipe fitting and connection jobs are now done easily with the new VARIFLEX® flexible clamp-on coupling from National Drain Supplies, Inc., of Sun Valley, California.
Fabricated from rugged, high impact virgin polyester, VARIFLEX can be bent, compressed or stretched to make installation easier. This feature also makes it possible to join two hopelessly misaligned pipes.
