THURSDAY February 11
Annual MCAA Golf and Tennis Tournaments. Special registration will be required; tournament details forthcoming. Non-players will have the opportunity to visit fabulous Walt Disney World.


FRIDAY, February 12
Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. for the Pre-Conference Seminar ONLY. Special registration will be required.

The Seminar will feature two presentations the "Basic Estimating Course," starting at 8:30 a.m., and "Anchorage Systems for Masonry Panels," beginning at 9:00 a.m. Both presentations will run until 4:30 p.m.

"Basic Estimating," a two-part course which will conclude on the following day, will be conducted by well-known MCAA lecturer Jerry Pope and the MCAA Education Committee. It is a fundamental estimating course designed to assist in the training of beginning masonry estimators in their daily responsibilities. Mr. Pope's manual used in conjunction with the course is organized as an official reference guide with forms for the small mason contractor's daily use. The objectives of the course are to acquaint the trainee with: Organization of bidding documents; proper use and understanding of those documents; fundamental drafting procedures and methods: basic quantity survey methods and procedures; masonry takeoff methods and checklists: checking procedures and methods; standardized estimate formats, and recommended example estimates.

"Anchorage Systems for Masonry Panels" will be under the direction of the MCAA Masonry Panel Committee and the MCAA Education Committee. George Hansen. Structural Engineer with the Colorado Masonry Institute, will serve as moderator. This is a one-day technical session designed to present to the established mason contractor suggestions on anchorage systems for all types of masonry panels, be they granite, marble, limestone, brick, etc.


SATURDAY, February 13
Part II of the "Basic Estimating Course" will be presented from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Conference registration will be held in two segments, from 8:00-10:00 a.m. and 1:00-5:00p.m.

Committee meetings may be called by the various committee chairmen or conferees may take advantage of the recreational facilities in the area. The committee meetings are open to all MCAA members, who are urged to attend.


SUNDAY, February 14
MCAA Committee meetings will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The meetings are open to all MCAA members, who are urged to attend.

MCAA Regional Vice President conferences will begin at 1:15 p.m.

At 2:00 p.m., the President's Reception will take place, followed immediately by the official opening of the '82 MCAA Educational Trade Show which will run for three days. Sunday's Show hours will be 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.


MONDAY, February 15
The Opening Session of MCAA's 32nd International Masonry Conference will begin at 9:30 a.m., with President Louis J. Helbert Jr. presiding. Four hours will then be devoted to visiting the Trade Show, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. The MCAA Executive Board Meeting will then convene at 4:00 p.m. and run to approximately 6:00 p.m.

That evening, at 6:30 p.m., MCAA conferees will be treated to a "Western Party."


TUESDAY, February 16
The ever-popular "Masonry Industry Showcase" will be presented from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. This outdoor event will be staged on the hotel grounds and feature live demonstrations of masonry construction equipment by some of the nation's leading manufacturers. A buffet lunch will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the exhibit hall, where the Trade Show will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on its final day.

From 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., MCAA's legal counsel, George Plumb, will direct Workshops on ERISA-the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974. Special emphasis will be placed on contractors' withdrawal liability and other salient provisions. Mr. Plumb will be assisted by industry experts in discussing this all-encompassing act.


WEDNESDAY, February 17
Wednesday morning will be devoted to Industry Workshops (topics to be announced), from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Two Workshops will be held simultaenously on subjects of prime concern to the Masonry Industry.

At 1:30 p.m., the MCAA Annual Meeting will be conducted and Association officers elected for the coming year. That evening, following an "Attitude Adjustment Hour." the Annual Banquet and Dance will conclude MCAA's 32nd International Masonry Conference.
