ARCHITECTS CONVERGE
Symposium Offers Unique Educational Opportunity for Designers

Twenty-five architects from all over the country converged in Orlando, Florida the morning of Thursday February 22 to meet for three days of intense masonry education. Highlights included seminars on disaster analysis, water penetration issues, colored block, mortar testing, Habitat for Humanity construction and a round table with mason contractors.

One of the favorite activities was the round table with mason contractors. The topic at hand was "Quality Assurance Issues". At the round table, architects and contractors broke into small groups to address specific issues dealing with quality concerns. After the group discussed the issues and came up with solutions, the groups shared their findings and had further discussion of the issues as a whole. Architect Delmar Dayton of Richmond, VA said "I enjoyed the entire convention and was really impressed with the group of programs the MCAA put together for the symposium. I am really glad I attended."
