CHICAGO The annual smoker, annual banquet-dinner dance and golf outing are among key events for the year announced by the Mason Contractors Association of Cook County. The annual smoker will be held April 20 at the Svithoid Singing Club. MCACC members will hold their golf outing July 27 at the Brookwood Country Club, Addison, Ill., and the 16th annual banquet-dinner dance will be held Nov. 11 in the Guildhall of the Ambassador West Hotel.

Clay Manufacturers See Hike in Brick, Tile Use; Region 4 Elects Officers

CANTON, O.-Forecasts of a substantial increase in the use of brick and tile during 1961 headlined the Second Annual Clay Industry Sales Conference sponsored by Region 4 of the Structural Clay Products Institute at the Belden Hotel.
More than 200 brick and tile dealers and manufacturers, officers of the BM&PIU and mason contractors came here from Ohio, Michigan, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The conference followed the annual meeting of Region 4-SCPI, whose membership includes 25 brick and tile producers.
During the sessions Otto J. Buchler. Fairfield Brick Co., was re-elected president of the Region. Other officers re-elected were: Vice-president, Donald J. Renkert, Metropolitan Brick Co., and treasurer, N. O. Geisinger, New Philadelphia.
In recognition of his interest in apprentice training, Canton Local #6, BM & PIU, presented a gold trowel to Paul Belden, Sr., Belden Brick Co.
