National Conference of Health, Welfare and Pension Plans will hold their 7th annual workshop at the Sheraton Hotel, Philadelphia, Pa., Oct. 2-5, 1961.

Mr. & Mrs. Fred Klefman, Cleveland, Ohio, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary while attending the Greenbrier meeting. Mr. Klefman is a member of the MCA of Cleveland, Ohio.

Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Holme, New York City, are touring Europe. Mr. Holme is president of the New York City Chapter.... An exciting trip of Mexico is being planned by Cartan Travel Bureau for MCAA members following the Houston Convention in February. See page 21 for Information Request form. Cook County Chapter member Andy Bohiem and Mrs. Boheim have just returned from an extensive tour of the Scandanavian countries. Miami member Jack Cook sends word from Bermuda that he is preparing a busy schedule for Board Members attending the Fall Meeting at the Deauville Hotel. C. O. Henriksen has been side tracked with a broken ankle. Get well quick, C. O., for the hunting season is fast approaching. The Watkins Brick Co., Birmingham, Ala., has joined SCPI.

Texas has a new sales tax which affects construction. Late bulletin from Houston says "No one fully understands the law at the present time and changes and new interpretations are being issued daily."

New Cook County Chapter members are Joseph Bilotto, Westchester, III., and Gunwald Moseid, Elmwood Park, III. Ray Holeman reports the Cook County 16th annual banquet will be held on Nov, 11th at the Ambassador West Hotel, Chicago.

Our wishes for a speedy recovery to Aug. Priegel, Milwaukee .Chapter member, who for the past few months has been on the sick list... The A.J.A. has announced its fourteenth Annual Program of National Awards for current work. Awards will be made for distinguished accomplishment in architecture by an American archi for any building in the United States or abroad, completed since Jar 1957. John D. Alm, Bemus Pa N. Y., has been appointed a distributor by the Kwik-Mix Co.. A study by the Armour Research Foundation of Chicago on the strength of masonry control materials has been released by Du wal.
