Mrs. R. W. (Ray) Larsen from Oslo, Norway, that their trip through the Scandinavian countries is going along fine. The Larsens will return to the U. S. during the latter part of July.

Dennis Malone, the first-place winner of the UMA Cincinnati's Traveling Scholarship offered to third year students at the University of Cincinnati School of Architecture.

Michael F. Gaul has been elected president of the Illinois Society of Architects. N. J. Risher, general works manager of the Sterling Div. and a 37-year veteran of the company, has retired.

The 1961 Golf Outing of the Cook County Chapter will be held at the Cog Hillwood Country Club, Addison, Ill. on Thursday, July 27th.

Richard S. Langdon, president of In-dex Cap & Screw Co. has announced that the company has changed its name to "The Fastron Co.".

The firm of Enger, Vavra and Kerne, Inc. announced the opening of a new office and yard at 3406 Martens Street, Franklin Park, Ill.

Thomas Robery, charter member of the Cook County Chapter, died on July 11th in Oak Ridge. Mr. Robery was 81 years old and had been a mason contractor in the area for over 40 years. S. G. Bishell, author of the article appearing in this issue of Masonry on Lime in Mortar is a member of the crew on the yacht "NALU II" which is entered in the Transpacific Race Los Angeles to Hono-.

MCA of St. Louis will hold its annual picnic at Holiday Valley in Kirkwood, Mo. on Saturday, July 22nd.

R. A. Bradshaw has joined the staff of the Brick & Tile Institute of Ontario. Warren R. Richardson, is now affiliated with the firm of William J. Connor & Associates, Chicago, Ill.

The Detroit Chapter was held on Wednesday, July 12th at Bonnie Brook Golf Club.
