It ranges from selection of an architect through all stages of construction and management.
Accounting, A Managerial Emphasis, by Charles T. Horngren. 773 pages. Published by Prentice-Hall, Inc., Englewood Cliffs, N. J.
This outstanding new book puts accounting in focus as a highly refined quantitative device for helping managers select and achieve their objectives. Although ample attention is devoted to accounting systems and procedures for data accumulation, the author places particular stress on the concepts that make modern cost accounting dynamic and vital. In short, the major theme of this book is "different cost for different purposes."
WELTON A. SNOW DIES
Washington-Col. Welton A. Snow, 71, died in a hospital here June 29, 1962, following several weeks illness. Mr. Snow was widely known in general contracting circles as a result of many years of work with the Associated General Contractors of America. He first joined the AGC staff in July of 1933, directing the Building Division affairs shortly after.
Col. Snow was co-secretary of the National Joint Cooperative Committee of the AGC and the National Institute of Architects. He was secretary of several other AGC committees concerned with building construction.
He served in both World Wars. In the Second War he served in England, North Africa, Italy, France and Germany, and was decorated by three foreign governments.

President Lonie has announced that on July 5 a notice was mailed to all exhibitors that a new priority system was being adopted for the assignment of convention exhibit space at the Educational Trade Show. This event will be held in the huge hall of the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel which will provide the leading masonry manufacturers and producers with a wonderful opportunity to effectively exhibit their products to the many thousands of people who will be attending this year's show. Future issues of MASONRY will advise members and guests of the many interesting details of the meeting.
