CAA MEMBERSHIP ENTITLES YOU TO A FREE $1,000 INSURANCE CERTIFICATE
CHICAGO, ILL.-(Special to Masonry)-A recent Executive committee decision provides that a $1,000 Accidental Death, Dismemberment or Loss of Eyesight Insurance Certificate will be issued (free-of-charge) to all Paid-Up MCAA Members. This coverage is to become effective June 1.
In order that these $1,000 Certificates can be made out properly, it is necessary that the post card mailed to you with the initial release on May 8th be completed immediately and returned to the MCAA Executive. As an added Privilege, you may wish to make this Coverage available to other Members of your firm. If you do, indicate their names on the enclosed card. The special low annual rate for "Additional" Coverage over and above the Free $1000 Insurance Certificate, will be $1.20 annually for each $1000 Certificate. Your company will be billed.
If you did not receive the mailing on May 8th we are duplicating the card below. If you are a paid up member in the MCAA please fill out this form and return it to the MCAA immediately so that you will receive your Free $1,000 Certificate.
Marble Institute Wins Top Awards
The Marble Institute of America, 32 South Fifth Avenue, Mount Vernon, New York, was the top awards winner in the 1962 Building Products Literature Competition sponsored by the American Institute of Architects and the Producers Council, Inc. The MIA was cited for its technical literature as well as its space advertising program.
In Class One, outlined as "Building Product Literature Concerned Primarily with Basic Technical Information" the MIA received two awards. An award of Exceptional Merit was given to the Marble Institute of America, Inc. and the National Association of Marble Producers for the Marble Engineering Hand- (Continued on page 12, column 3)
MCAA Holds Second Management Meet
The MCAA held its second Management Institute at the Bismark Hotel, Chicago, on April 27 and 28, with thirty-nine Mason Contractors in attendance. Main topic of the two-day session was Financial Management. Professor David Green opened the meeting with "Determining the Best Accounting Methods and Systems for Your Business." He was followed by Professor Charles Horngren who discussed "Financing Problems of Your Business, and Long Term Contracts." On Saturday the group heard Professor Sidney Davidson on "Inventory Methods for Materials, and Depreciation and Write-offs of Buildings' Equipment & Tools." The final session was covered by Professor Horngren and he presented "Analysis of Your (Continued on page 12, column 1)
Whitlock Receives Award
WASHINGTON, D. C. Douglas Whitlock (right), Chairman of the Board of the Structural Clay Products Institute, shows the 1962 F. Stuart Fitzpatrick Memorial Award, which he just received, to Mrs. Whitlock. Philip Will, Jr. (left), President of the American Institute of Architects, made the presentation at the Building Research Institute's Spring Conferences at the Shoreham Hotel. The Award is presented annually in honor of outstanding individual achievement in the unification of the building industry. Five construction industry organizations sponsor the Fitzpatrick award.
