MCA Elects Sen President
ATTLE, WASH. Jannes B. Sen has been elected president of the Mason Contractors Association of Seattle, Washington. Other officers are Jim Getty, vice president; Hugh Harrison, secretary; and William L. Nelson, treasurer.
Oklahoma City Chapter Elects New Officers
LAHOMA CITY, OKLA.-B. J. has been elected President of the MCA Chapter here with James Wilson being selected as the group's Vice President. Hubert B. Wade was elected as the association's Secretary-Treasurer. Election was held at the annual meeting of the organization on March 27th.
Congratulations Ed Bjorklund
LWAUKEE, WIS. Congratulations to Milwaukee Chapter Member Ed Bjorklund for winning the alderman election in the 7th Ward of Brookfield, Wis. It's wonderful news when a member cares enough to invest his time in civic affairs of his community.
Pittsburgh NADD Chapter Elects Schano President
CTSBURGH, PA. Joseph J. Schano has been elected president of the Deal NADD Chapter for 1962. Other officers elected are: Vince Mullen, Vice President; Robert Thomas, secretary; and James Gloninger, treasurer.
Ohio State Champion Apprentice Bricklayer
EVELAND, OHIO John Giandomenico, indentured to William Delacqua Builders, Inc., a member of the Mason Contractors Association of Cleveland Ohio, was crowned "G" Bricklayer Apprentice of the State of Ohio, Sunday, March 11, at the Home and Flower show. Giandomenico, who has been at the trade less than two years, gained his title competing successfully against 48 city apprentices in a city contest and 12 apprentices in the state contest. By winning his title, Giandomenico received the right to participate in the National Contest to be held in Portland, Oregon, May 25.

Name Cour New National Joint Board Chairman
WASHINGTON, D. C. William J. Cour has succeeded R. J. Mitchell, resigned, as chairman of the national Joint Board for Settlement of Jurisdictional Disputes. He has extensive background in construction labor relations, having been director of labor relations for the National Electrical Contractors Association, management representative in the original negotiations for the National Joint Board, as well as a contractor representative on the joint board for several years. Originally from Springfield, Illinois, he has been employed as a consultant in the Office of the Solicitor, U. S. Department of Labor.
Indiana MCA Re-elects J. M. Clifford President
VALPARAISO, IND. At a recent dinner meeting of the Mason Contractors Association of Indiana, Inc., officers of the group were re-elected. They are: Joseph M. Clifford, president; Joseph M. Argenta, vice president; Neville Gough, secretary; and Leo Largura, treasurer.
Carry over members of the Board of Directors serving for terms 1961 to 1963 are James Goodall, Theodore Shetkowski, Alvin Rak and Rudy Shearer.

Honor Two Utah Mason Contractors

Two Utah mason contractors and their men were honored for their craftsmenship March 24 at the Second Annual Utah Masonry Conference.
The newly-organized Utah Masonry Advisory Board, an association sponsored jointly by management and labor, presented its first "Awards of Excellence" to LaVon A. Nielson & Sons of Logan, and to Ridges & Worthen of Salt Lake City.
The Logan masonry contractor and his men were cited for the work they did on the Student Living Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Utah State University in Logan. Jack Perry, a bricklayer and son-

in-law of Mr. Nielson, accepted the award from Stanley N. Child, conference chairman.
Ridges & Worthen, co-owned by Alvin Ridges and Reed Worthen, was cited for masonry work displayed in an ivory-colored brick and stone residence at 91 E. Edgecomb Drive above the Utah State Capitol. Mr. Worthen accepted the award at the banquet.
A panel of Utah architects chose the two winners from entries submitted to the Utah Masonry Advisory Board. According to Gerald Creason, chairman of the board, the buildings were judged solely on masonry craftsmanship. He said similar awards will be presented each year at the annual conference.
