Solve Many Problems With Use of Masonry
Construction is scheduled to begin soon on the new Claremont, Calif. Education Center, according to Dr. Donald Reber, District Superintendent, and Balch-Hutchason-Perkins, architects for the project.
The Center, which will house the District Administration Offices of the Claremont Unified School District, one of the fastest growing in the nation, will cover 8,500 square feet and will be located on an 8 acre site in Claremont. It will cost an estimated $189,000- including site development.
W. K. Hutchason, a member of the architectural firm of Balch-Hutchason-Perkins, says, "We have solved many problems in the design of this building by combining the use of concrete block and native stone. It will blend architecturally with local structures at a minimum cost."
The new Claremont Education Center, one of five to be designed by Balch-Hutchason-Perkins, will be completed in September, 1963.
