Masonry Fund Trains Inspectors

The Masonry Research Fund of Southern California established a school to train masonry inspectors.

Classes began on July 8th at Woodbury College at three dollars per night, three nights per week for five weeks.

Instructor is William T. Courm, structural engineer.

The course has been designed to give all students a thorough knowledge of blue print reading, Los Angeles and County, Uniform and State building codes, and all requirements and responsibilities of a deputy building inspector. In addition all students will be given a complete course on the technique of "High-Lift" grouting. This program was started in San Francisco in 1955 and recently been used extensively in Southern California.

Many guest speakers have been arranged to help present the requirements and information. Some of the speakers are Oscar Siegal, Glen Martin, Albyn Mackintosh, Hugh McDonald, Alex Laker, Walker Dickey, Al Maxted, Chris Steute, George Batty and Ryan O'Brien.
