TRUCK

Features designed to fit specific needs in the construction field enable the redesigned Champ 350 to set new standards of performance in the building industry, according to Mike Simovich, sales manager for Champ.

Materials can be spotted on a building to heights of 27 feet with precise control. At the same time, saximum free lift with minimum collapsed height allows the Hi-Lo equipped with 20 ft. mast to clear a 10 ft. height while carrying a 6 ft. scaffold. Its "tow ability," a feature pioneered by Champ, means the lift truck can be moved from site to site at highway speeds without trailer or special attachment.

A choice of two different drive ratios is offered in single or double reduction Drive axle is heavy duty full floating hypoid-geared. Power for the 350 Hi-Lo is supplied by a 109 HP Chrysler engine with fluid drive.

Added features include exclusive trunnion mounted steer axle to maintain full traction over roughest ground maximum size, low pressure tires, plus high underclearance to facilitate operation in mud or sand.

ABLE HOIST

A two-platform, single tower, cable hoist has been announced by Champion Manufacturing Company, St. Louis, Missouri. Called the "Twin-Hoist", this new unit has a capacity of 3,500 to 5,000 lbs. per platform and operates at speeds up to 175 ft. per minute. It was designed by Mr. Michael Grunfeld.

Easily towed by any truck, the Champion "Twin-Hoist" is self-erecting up to 43 ft. Additional 6 ft. 8 in. sections can be added for use up to 250 ft. or more. The platforms can be operated independently or in counterbalance. According to the manufacturer, the most popular feature of the "Twin-Hoist" is its ability, when operated in counterbalance, to raise to any level twice as much material or concrete as a single platform hoist.

The Champion "Twin Hoist" will be available for purchase beginning in March. For more information contact your Champion dealer or write Chapion Manufacturing Company, 3700 Forest Park Avenue, St. Louis 8, Missouri.

TRACTOR & LIFT

Providing a lift capacity of 10,000 pounds and 95 hp the new International 660 with the International Harlo R-6614 rear-moum-ed forklift just introduced by International Harvester Company offers the desired capacity requested by loggers, sawmills, outdoor warehousing operations, and the heaviest off-pavement materials handling duty.

The tractor and lift are integrated into a strength-balanced unit for all-weather, all-terrain performance. Large-diameter, high-flotation tires, plus adequate underaxle and undermast clearance, can carry the International 660 unit through deep mud and snow. The two-stage, 14-foot masts are precision-formed from rolled steel channels to provide maximum stability. Ample mast channel overlap provided at extended heights maintains rigidity with freedom from binding. Large, thick bronze wearing pads reduce friction and prevent wear of the channels.

Features of the machine include an open, airy, operating compartment which provides excellent visibility in all directions. The steering wheel and all controls are positioned for driver comfort and efficiency. Long valve control levers give precise control of lowering speed and mast tilt.
