CONVENTION REPORT

It was the biggest and certainly the most exciting convention ever held in the Industry. The '64 meeting was action packed from its official opening on Saturday afternoon through the Annual Banquet on Tuesday evening. In spite of the brisk pace each of the sessions was attended by capacity crowds which gave the speakers an enthusiastic reception.

At the Annual Meeting Tuesday afternoon Lester Dietrich, St. Louis, Mo., was elected President of the MCAA. Elected Vice President was Anthony Perri, Brooklyn, N. Y., with Frank Laureys, Barrington, III., the newly elected Treasurer. The two proposed changes in the constitution were adopted and the Association now has seven Regional Vice Presidents. Re-elected were Herman May, Houston, Texas; Jack Cook, Miami, Florida, and R. L. Johnston, Tacoma, Washington. Newly elected officials are David Sibbald, Newington, Connecticut, Don Stevens, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Russell Jones, Denver, Colorado, and Leonard Eden, Toronto, Canada.

Following the President's Reception President Lonie wielded a mightly trowel which cut the ribbon and officially opened the '64 MCAA Education Trade Show. Traffic flow during the first hour was over the 800 mark with approximately 1,100 people viewing the show on opening night.

Sunday afternoon was turned over to the Promotion Clinic with Frank Laureys presiding. Presenting
