Mexico City News carried the news in December that "Building Costs To Go Up 25% Jan. 1." Mexico Industry officials said that the price hikes were due to a 22 per cent increase in the minimum wage for construction projects, higher production costs, and increased material costs.
Attending a recent Chicago Chapter dinner dance were Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Henriksen. C. O. has been active in the association having been the MCAA representative on the National Joint Apprenticeship Committee for many years. Wm. Dudley Hunt, Jr. of Port Chester, N. Y. has been appointed publisher of the Journal of the American Institute of Architects Robert D. Dikkers, former design engineer for NCMA, has been named assistant chief engineer of SCPI Recent Koehring announcements Stan L. Elect Elam President
Roy A. Elam was installed as the President of the Mason Contractors Association of St. Louis at the group's annual banquet and dinner dance held on Saturday, January 11th, at the Park Plaza Hotel.
Other officers of the Chapter are: Wilbur Fell, Vice President; H. J. Buckley, Secretary; Arthur Ball, Treasurer. Trustees are: W. Templemeyer, Wilbur Haeger, Willard Shy. Louis Stibal and August Finder.
Arbitration Board Members are: Roy A. Elam, T. W. Kirk, Harry Buckley, Willard Shy, R. J. DeWalle, Les Dietrich, and Fred Daues. Alternates are: Harry Buckley, Wilbur Fell and James Paton.
Bjorklund Elected
MILWAUKEE, WIS. Ed Bjorklund was elected president of the Milwaukee Chapter at the group's December meeting. Others elected are: Robert Tubesing, 1st Vice President; Harry Smet, 2nd Vice President; Pete Germinaro, Secretary and LeRoy Ballmann, Treasurer. Directors are Tom Koenig and M. Zanchetti.

PROMOTE KUNZE, BENNET
Walter E. Kunze, Jr., has been named director of promotion planning and engineering services for the Portland Cement Association. Kunze succeeds George H. Paris who recently was appointed to the newly created position of Canadian manager.
W. Burr Bennett, Jr., has been named manager of the Association.
Kunze Bennett Structural Bureau. Bennett formerly served as assistant manager.
Kunze, as director of promotion planning and engineering services, will direct the activities of five promotion bureaus and the Association's personnel training program.
He joined the Portland Cement Association in August 1952 as a structural engineer in its Structural Railways Bureau. He became assistant manager of that bureau in 1958, and the following year was made manager of Personnel Training. He was named manager of the Structural and Railways Bureau in January 1960.
Prior to joining the Association, he was a structural designer with the consulting engineering firm of Metcalf Eddy, Boston, Mass., and Toltz, King and Day, St. Paul, Minn. (Continued on page 37)
