People & Events

Dick Kacena, Anchor Mfg. Co., is weighed down these days with an ankle cast result of too sharp a turn while playing hand ball. The Associated Masonry Contractors of Houston enjoyed a relaxing evening on Monday, June 15th, when they held a family nite at the Houston Ball Park. A barbecue supper was served and then the group saw the Colt's and St. Louis play from first baseline reserved seats. Jack E. Colwell has been named assistant sales manager, Gladding McBean Building Products, Pacific Northwest, for International Pipe and Ceramics Corp.

Recovering from a recent operation is Henry R. Nemec, Cleveland, Ohio. Six architectural firms have been selected to compete in the final stage of a national competition for the design of a new headquarters for A. I. A. They are: Donald Barthelme, Houston, Texas; Jean Labatut and (continued on page 8)
