President elect of the Dayton, Ohio, Chapter is Leonard Hoying. Other officers are: William Jones, Vice President; Percy Bilbrey, Secretary and Edgar Stamper, Jr., Treasurer.
The Eastern Seaboard Apprenticeship Conference will be held June 14th at the Chalfonte-Haddon Hall Hotel, Atlantic City.
Featured speaker at the March meeting of the Milwaukee Chapter was Corb Garton, Regional Director, SCPI. Corb presented the "Contemporary Bearing Wall".
The Besser Co. film "Imagination Unlimited" was presented at the March 16th meeting of the Minneapolis Chapter. Officers for the Masonry Contractors Association of Dallas are: Henry Beckman, President; Chester Proudfoot, Vice President and Johnnie M. Reed, Jr., Secretary-Treasurer.
Featured speaker at the January meeting of the Minneapolis Chapter was Warren Oas, Manager of the local Div., Western Mineral Products Co. Elected President of the National Concrete Masonry Association at its 45th annual Convention was Howard O. Woltz, Jr., Mt. Airy, North Carolina. Newly elected officers of the Colorado Mason Contractors Association are: Less Osborne, President; James Arnott, Vice President, and Russ Jones as Secretary-Treasurer. SCPI Region No. 6 has elected new officers. They are: C. T. Bridgman, President; R. J. Galvin, Vice President; F. L. McCrea, Treasurer and Roger Judd, Secretary. Jim Neville is regional director with offices in Ames, Ia. Skil Corp. has appointed John T. Trumble as Manager of the Air Tool Division. In announcing the appointment, John W. Sullivan, Skil President, said that Trumble will have full responsibility for newly-created Air Tool Div. located in Skokie, III.
Recently appointed Architectural Representative for the New England Masonry Institute, Inc. is Leo Palizza. James Gross, SCPI's Director of Engineering, was reappointed chairman of the Building Materials Div. of the Building Research Institute.
Newly elected Regional Vice Presidents for NCMA are: W. H. Sweeney, R. A. Utiger, Louie P. Hoffman and Merrill S. Bird. At the 45th annual meeting of the Wisconsin Concrete Products Association fifteen Past President received commemorative medals for their service for that organization.
AIA CONVENTION
WASHINGTON, D. C.
The world's largest single gathering of architects is expected in the nation's capital June 14-18 for the 97th annual convention of The American Institute of Architects and the XI Pan American Congress of Architects, the latter for the first time in the United States. The AIA will be host to the Pan American Congress, which will be attended by about 1,000 architects from 10 Latin American countries. Theme of the joint convention/congress sessions is "Cities of the New World," and a distinguished group of 24 speakers will address the delegates, of which AIA expects more than 2,000 in addition to the Latin guests, on the past, present and future of cities.
Dayton Elects Officers
DAYTON, OHIO At the annual election of the Mason Contractors Association of Dayton, Inc. held on Monday, March 8th, Leonard Hoying was elected President. Other officers elected are: William Jones, Vice President; Percy Bilbrey, Secretary and Edgar Stamper, Jr., Treasurer.
SCHEDULE CONFERENCE
The 21st annual Eastern Seaboard Apprenticeship Conference will be held June 14 to 18 at the Chalfonte Haddon Hall, Atlantic City, N.J. Nei Kort is Chairman of the event with the theme being "Apprenticeship in a Changing World."
BRI TO HOLD MEETINGS

The Building Research Institute will hold its 1965 Spring Conferences on April 27-29 at the Mayflower Hotel, Washington, D. C. Of special interest to the Masonry Industry will be the presentations on Wednesday, April 28th. Donald E. Anderson and Edward S. Hoffman, Engineers Collaborative, will discuss "Structural Innovations In Masonry", and Robert Taylor, SCPRF Director, and C. B.
