Featured in a recent column of the Portland, Ore., Daily Journal of Commerce was Harry Heuer. Harry, long a supporter of the MCAA, is now retired from active business but remains in various phases of construction work. W. J. Conway has been promoted to the position of Executive Vice President with Ideal Cement Co., Denver, Colo. Medusa Portland Cement Co. has announced its intention to build a major cement plant at Charleviox, Michigan, to be in operation in mid-1967. New employees with Felker Mfg. Co., Torrence, Calif. are R. Nicholls, Terrell Taylor and Grant W. Kime. William M. Paldwell has been elected Senior Vice resident of American Cement Corp., Los Angeles, Calif.
EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETS AT BELLAIRE, MICHIGAN
The Shanty Creek Lodge, Bellaire, Michigan, was the site of the Summer Executive Board Meeting on August 12-15, with a full schedule of activities on the meeting agenda.
On Thursday afternoon the Masonry Industry's Committee under the direction of Michael Coco, Chairman, and Committee members Hershel Hunt and Fred Daues meet with the Advisory Members William R. Conners, B.M. & P.I.U.; Richard Branham, N.C.MA.; and William Roark, S.C.P.I. to review programs underway and to discuss new projects for the group. It was reported that the Certificates for presentation to all Bricklayer Apprentices indentured during the Centennial year of the Bricklayers Union were now available and being prepared for presentation. President Les Dietrich presents to Mrs. John Yoxen, Las Vegas, Nevada, the trophy for winning the Ladies Golf Tournament. Mrs. Yoxen also had the distinction of having the longest drive for the Women in the National Golf Driving Experiment held on Friday morning of the Bellaire Course.
