The Milwaukee Chapter Picnic was held on Saturday, June 25th, at Old Heidelberg Park. Featured speaker for the June Meeting of the Associated Masonry Contractors of Metropolitan Chicago was Jack Minnoch who discussed Executive Thinking.
Omark Industries, Inc., presented a diamond pendant and diamond tie tac to two lucky winners of the MCAA show this year. Winning the drawing were Mrs. Jane Barnes, whose husband manages Mancer Barnes Masonry Co. in Fairmont, West Virginia; and Jack W. Young of Fischer Concrete Co., Memphis, Tenn. Diamonds valued at over $100 each were presented at the banquet by Wes Perrin, Omark's public relations manager for U.S. operations.
Jerry Jarboe reports that the arrangements for the Texas State Meeting, August 11-14, at San Antonio have now been completed. Universal Mfg. Corp., has announced the appointment of Mid-South Equipment Supply Co., Inc., Memphis, Tenn. as a distributor for its complete line of scaffolding products. The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors is sponsoring a four-day International Symposium on Quantity Surveying at Cambridge, England, Sept. 4-9.

New President of the Expanded Shale & Slate Institute is James M. Chandler of Chandler Materials Co., Tulsa, Okla. St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church featured in a special section of Masonry in the November issue, has received special recognition by the American Society for Church Architecture.
