George & Asmussen Build Expo Exhibit
Architect's model showing the completed Brewers' Association Pavilion to be erected at Canada's world exhibition, Expo 67. Fairfield and Dubois, Toronto, architects.
The Brewers' Association of Canada is erecting uniquely designed scary buildings for Canada's world exhibition, Expo '67, opening in Montreal next year. The Pavilion feature is a number of circular buildings including a bar-restaurant with an outdoor service terrace. Others contain exhibit space and a miniature theatre. A special concrete block unit was designed particularly for these building in the shape of a half moon called "Lunar" block by the architects of the project, Fairfield & Dubois, Toronto. To insure proper reinforcing of the wall, Dur-O-wal, Ltd., of Canada, designed and manufactured special curved truss design reinforcing. The special half moon concrete masonry units are supplied by the Iroquois Division of General Concrete, Ltd., and the masonry contractors on the job are George & Asmussen, Ltd., MCAA Members.
