The Federal District Court, in a decision dated March 30, 1966 held the claims in suit to be invalid, and dismissed the complaint against Schwart as it existed on the use of the Park Tool Co. machine.

Welfare plans are in the majority, helping covered employees pay their families hospital, surgical, medical, and dental expenses.

Retirement plans hold most of the assets, with their total value increasing more than 10 percent in 1965.

While 25 million employees, or about half of those in non-farm private employment, are covered by today's retirement plans, the report indicates that fewer than this numbr will actually qualify for private retirement benefits when the time comes for them to leave the active work force.

All changes affecting plan operation, as well as plan descriptions and annual financial reports, are kept on file by the Department's Office of Labor-Management and (Continued on page 34)
