I Memoriam

LEE CHURCHILL

Lee Churchill, President of the Masonry Guild, died on October 19th. Mr. Churchill, partner in the firm of Churchill-Bailey Masonry Contractors, served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Arizona Bricklayers' Health & Welfare, Pension and Promotional Trust Funds. He was a Past-President of the Arizona Masonry Contractors Association.

Mr. Churchill was an avid supporter of Industry programs and will be greatly missed by all those in the Construction field.

ELMER W. DIENHART

Elmer E. Dienhart, former Executive Secretary, National Concrete Masonry Association, died in Des Moines, Ia. on November 8th. A native of Chicago, Mr. Dienhart entered the concrete field in 1918 as a member of the field staff of PCA. He was instrumental in formation of policy and programs in the early years of NCMA. Upon his retirement in 1957, Mr. Dienhart was made an honorary member of NCMA.

JOHN E. FOGARTY

Representative John E. Fogarty, 53, a member of the House since 1941, died of a heart attack January 10th in his Capitol Office. Rep. Fogarty was chairman of the House Appropriations subcommittee handling health, education and welfare matters.

A bricklayer, Rep. Fogarty was first elected to Congress in 1940. He served until Dec. 7, 1944-when he resigned to join the Army. After World War II he was re-elected to the House and had served since.

PORTER DIVISION SOLD

Mr. F. J. Robbins, President of Bliss & Laughlin Industries, announced today an agreement for the sale of the assets of the Porter Division of Waco-Porter Co. for an undisclosed sum of cash.

The purchaser, a newly-formed corporation, Porter-Leavitt Co., will headquarter and maintain the Porter Athletic operations in their present location in Schiller Park, Illinois.
