1969 MCAA CONVENTION REPORT
BOSTON, MASS. Wonderful and exciting are the words to use when describing the magnificant city of Boston-when you talk about the '69 MCAA Convention you'll have to supplement those terms with "Warm New England Friendliness" and "Gracious Bostonian Hospitality".
The huge new multi-million dollar Prudential Center provided the modern setting with the Sheraton-Boston Hotel serving as MCAA Headquarters. The Educational Trade Show, the Association's largest, was held in the Boston War Memorial Auditorium directly adjacent to the hotel.
At the Annual Meeting of the Association Donald Bidwell, Plymouth, Michigan, was re-elected President. Allen Young and David Soloff were re-elected Vice President and Treasurer. Guy Apple, Phoenix, Arizona, was elected Secretary. Officers elected are:

The President's Reception on Saturday afternoon got the festivities underway. President Bidwell and Mrs. Bidwell assisted by Convention Chairman Charles Velardo and Mrs. Velardo cut the ribbon at the entrance to the exhibition hall at 5 P.M. which officially opened the MCAA Show.
Sunday's activities were centered around the MCAA Management Institute. The featured speaker was Charles A. Kothe, member of the law firm of Kothe, Eagleton & Hall, Tulsa, Okla. and Washington, D.C. Mr. Kothe presented "Management's Responsibilities In Changing Times". He discussed briefly the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and presented a summary analysis of the revised regulations of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance. Following his address Mr. Kothe joined the panel that covered "Jurisdiction-Its Effect On You". In addition to Mr. Kothe there were Leo Nazdin, Laborers International Union; Donald Bidwell, MCAA President; Charles Seedorff, Strawberry Point, Ia.; John Swindal, Bessemer, Ala. and George Miller, MCAA Executive Vice President. For approximately two hours members of the panel fielded questions directed to them by the audience in relation to jurisdictional matters. The full range of the subject matter relative to the contractor's rights, as well as his responsibilities, were touched upon.
Opening the Monday morning session was the presentation of the Colors. His Eminence Richard Cardinal Cushing, Bishop of Boston, then presented the invocation. Following the invocation Representative Maurice Frye, filling in for the Governor, welcomed the
