Byrl M. Stout has been appointed Vice President and Assistant to the President of Pittsburgh Corning Corp. The 1969 SCPI Annual Convention is scheduled for the Greenbrier, White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., on Nov. 1-5. Those who attended the MCAA Summer Executive Board Meeting at the Broadwater Beach have asked what damage the recent hurricane did to the facilities. We understand that the marina was almost a total loss, while the hotel sustained a very severe blow it will be back in operation within a few months. Would you believe, the golf courses, with the exception of tree damage, are ready to play. To correct the statement that fishing was not too good during our meeting-here are Evelyn Lonie and Louise Young proving that earlier in the day the fish were biting. But when that wind died down about eleven, they just weren't around to be caught.

Spickelmier Industries, Inc., Indianapolis, has announced that they have acquired the name and assets of the American Block Co. A change in name for the architectural firm of Meathe, Kessler & Associates. The firm will now be known as William Kessler & Associates, Inc., with their address 18000 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe, Michigan 48224. A Conference On Precoordination, The Basis For Industrialized Building was held on Sept. 24-26 at the National Bureau of Standards, Gaithersburg, Md. Weaver & Drover, Architects, have announced the relocation of their offices to Suite 505, 4502 North Central Ave., Phoenix, Arizona. Joseph Nowak has been promoted to Chicago area manager by Omark Industries. Remember the old days when it was the practice to take a bath weekly and religion daily?

Newest member to join SCPI is the Richtex Corp., Columbia, South Carolina. The National Association of Distributors & Dealers of Structural Clay Products held a Management Seminar on Sept. 18th at the Marriott Inn, Chicago. Pittsburgh Corning Corp. has announced the appointment of Robert L. Winter as Treasurer for Pittsburgh Corning Europe, Tessenderlo, Belgium.


New Standards Catalog
The Standards Institute has just published its 1969 catalog of USA Standards and international recommendations. Some 600 USA Standards and 300 international recommendations have been added to the new 112-page edition, which lists 3,600 USA Standards approved by the Institute and 1,350 international recommendations of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Commission on Rules for the Approval of Electrical Equipment (CEE), and Pan American Standards Commission (COPANT). Included is an index to the titles of all USA Standards and international recommendations. A special symbol is used to identify publications available on microfilm.
