Newly elected officers of the Mason Contractors Association of Greater Chicago are: Donald Larsen, President; Kenneth Medema, Vice President; Richard Lauber, Secretary and Robert Harrison, Treasurer. Three new Board of Directors are: Alex Nuzzo, Ed McGuire and Harold Davia.
Chicagoans Honor Charter Members
The Mason Contractors Association of Greater Chicago, at their Quarter Century banquet, honored 12 Charter Members for devoted service to the organization. Recipients of attractive plaques presented by President Joseph Szabo were (left to right, including the back row): Dominic Mamprisio, Thorlief Larsen, Joseph Lunde, Charles Matthys, Arthur Nitsch, George Hill, Michael Busa, Harold W. Peterson, Harry Cohen, Harry T. Peterson, Ivar Ullman and Tony Kesman. The MCAGC's 25th Anniversary Dinner Dance was held at the new O'Hareport on Saturday evening, November 21st. Serving as master of ceremonies was Frank Laureys.

Safety paid off for Allan Knuth, Knuth Masonry, Milwaukee Chapter, for recently he received a dividend check (several thousand) from his insurance carrier. Knuth Masonry is now in its 40th consecutive month of NO lost time due to accidents. The Rawlplug Co., Inc., has appointed Edward J. Gormley as Vice President-Marketing and Gerald L. DeGraw has been named Field Sales Manager. Patricia Murphy has joined the staff of the Portland Cement Association as a public information specialist. National Concrete Masonry Association will hold its 51st Annual Convention at the Marriott Motor Hotel, Atlanta, Jan. 31st Feb. 3rd, 1971.
Back at work after re-injuring his back is Walt Rothermel, President, Colorado Mason Contractor Association. Latest issue of The Medusa Mirror is highly enjoyable. Two stories, The World's Fastest, 1-MPH Voyage and For Possible Perpetuity are excellent. Plan Safety Meetings
Secretary of Labor J. D. Hodgson today announced that a series of informal public meetings will be held in five cities early in 1971 to discuss proposed construction safety standards before beginning rule-making proceedings.
The Construction Safety Act of 1969 requires the Secretary to promulgate safety and health standards for workers on federal and federally financed or assisted construction contracts in excess of $2,000.

(BOMAG), Boppard/Rhein, Germany, announced Orville R. Mertz, Koehring president. Agreement in principal on the transaction was disclosed in August.
BOMAG's sales are expected to reach $16 million in 1970, according to Mertz. The firm manufactures vibratory compaction equipment and has manufacturing and major sales companies in seven countries.

Washington, D. C. George S. Hays of the John E. Cooper Company in Akron, Ohio, was elected President of the National Association of Distributors & Dealers of Structural Clay Products at its Annual Convention in Boca Raton, Florida.
