Capitalize on Change,
Urges Industry Leader
"Recognition of continuous change" has been cited by Robert D. MacLean, president of the Portland Cement Association, as an essential prerequisite for the future business posture of the cement, concrete and aggregate industries.
In an address before a joint session of the National Sand & Gravel Association and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association meeting on February 1 in McCormick Place, Chicago, MacLean examined changes taking place in society and in the marketplace. He concluded that new challenges are "the source of new opportunities if we will but develop them."
MacLean expressed optimism about the outlook for the three industries-an optimism "tempered with a conviction that, collectively, we have not yet recognized the impact of changes taking place, changes which will have a profound effect on our success or failure."
