Brick Institute of America has released their new Brick Builder Notes. The first bulletin covers brick dimensions and nomenclature.
Kent A. Ramm of E.L. Ramm Co., LaGrange, III., has been elected to the Young Presidents' Organization, an educational society with an international membership of 2,700 young, successful chief executives who have become presidents of sizable companies before the age of 40. Danny Amico has been named national convention sales director for Albert Pick Hotels and Motor Inns in Chicago. He returns to the Pick chain after a 20-year absence, during which time he was vice president & director of sales for the Sherman House in Chicago. John Coward, president of Tri-City Concrete Products, Port Neches, Texas, has been elected president of the Texas Concrete Masonry Association for 1973-74. James A. Hughes has been elected a director of Medusa Corp., Cleveland, Ohio, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of James E. Poole.
Harry N. Huntzicker, retired past-president (1966-71) of the Portland Cement Association, has been elected a director of General Portland, Inc., Dallas, Texas, announced L. James Wade, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of GP. Edward L. Stout, Jr. has been elected president of Acme Brick Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Justin Industries, Inc., Fort Worth, Tex. George Roach has been elected president, Paul Lucksinger vice president and J.L. Hankey secretary of the Austin chapter of the Associated Masonry Contractors of Texas. William M. Troutman has been elected vice president/administration and secretary of Medusa Corp., Cleveland, Ohio. Gene P. Gardner has been elected president and chief executive officer of Louisville Cement Co., Louisville, Ky. The Masonry Institute of Maryland, Baltimore, formerly known as the Brick Institute of Maryland, has appointed Ashton-Worthington of the same city as its public relations and communications consultants.
