This authoritative work by Walter T. Derk, vice president of James, has been fully revised and expanded and is considered the most complete and coherent book available on the subject. It is intended primarily for general contractors, construction managers, prime and subcontractors, owners, architects, engineers, and those concerned with properly managing their insurance risks. The updated material takes into account recent law and rules changes, particularly in the area of liability insurance. This expanded version contains new chapters on: understanding risk management, building insurance overhead into contract costs, workmen's compensation reforms, association safety group insurance plans, insurance ramifications of OSHA provisions in indemnity clauses, and using umbrella limits to meet insurance specifications.
