Name Billings Coordinator
Brooks Billings has been named Industry Coordinator for the Arizona Masonry Guild and Masonry Industry Program of Arizona, according to Executive Director Paul H. Rosensteel. Billings had served as apprentice coordinator for the industry's Joint Apprenticeship Committee Program for the past 12 years. Prior to heading the apprenticeship program, which is considered to be among the finest union craftsman training programs in the country, he was a masonry contractor and bricklayer for 16 years.
In his new post, Billings will administer a variety of liaison activities between the Guild and design professionals, contractors, manufacturers and others involved in masonry construction throughout the state.
Elect Chambers Chairman
Ross Chambers, Manager of Pump Sales for Construction Machinery Company, Waterloo, Iowa, was elected Chairman of the Contractors Pump Bureau at the Bureau's Annual Meeting held recently at the Santa Barbara Biltmore Hotel, Santa Barbara, California.
Prior to being elected Chairman, Chambers had served as Technical Committee Chairman and Membership Chairman for the Bureau. The Contractors Pump Bureau which was organized in 1945, is comprised of 12 qualified nationally known manufacturers of contractors pumps one of which is Construction Machinery Company. Chambers, who will serve a 2-year term as Chairman of the Bureau, has been with Construction Machinery Company since 1966.
IMI ADOPTS 1976 PROGRAMS

At the Fall meeting of the Board of Trustees and Advisors of the International Masonry Institute held in Washington on November 6th programs for 1975 were continued and 1976 efforts were broadened.
IMI's comprehensive advertising campaign was approved with the addition of TIME magazine in Canada. Others are: NEWSWEEK-E. ARCHITECTURAL RECORD, AIA JOURNAL, CANADIAN ARCHITECT, ENGINEERING NEWS RECORD, CSI CONSTRUCTION SPECIFIER, DODGE CONSTRUCTION NEWS, BUILDINGS, PROFESSIONAL BUILDER and MODERN HEALTHCARE. Special direct-mail merchandising efforts are planned with APARTMENT CONSTRUCTION NEWS and HOUSE & HOME. New ads will feature information on energy conservation, fire-safe construction, loadbearing and the design flexibility of masonry.
In 1976 IMI will produce a new film for use by architectural and engineering educators to introduce their students to masonry. A design publication to be used in conjunction with the film will be developed. The 1976 McGraw Hill Sweets reference files will be expanded. A newspaper clipsheet will be developed and the distribution of IMI films will be increased. Many other IMI promotion activities are budgeted and scheduled for completion in the coming year.
