GSA Saves On Energy
Energy equivalent to nearly 2.5 million barrels of crude oil was saved the first year of a conservation program in the U.S. General Services Administration, according to GSA administrator Arthur F. Sampson.

"This 21 per cent energy savings indicates the sacrifice made by federal employees throughout the nation," Sampson said. "They are setting an example which, if followed by all Americans, would make a significant contribution to our national conservation effort."

The recently released GSA figures represent a reduction in energy consumption in 10,000 GSA-owned or operated buildings and in gasoline used by more than 72,300 government-owned vehicles during fiscal year 1974.
