came along side but with the rough seas disembarkation was cancelled and the Captain advised that departure for the Island of Rhodes would be immediately. Arrival in Rhodes many hours later did not see any improvement in the weather and the port authorities advised that ships were not being allowed to enter. Following close to the shore line Captain E. Kouris headed the Neptune for Crete. Ensuing weather made it necessary for the ship to anchor at a large bay for the evening awaiting for departure to Herakleion in the morning hours.
