MCAA Summer Board Meeting
(Continued from page 7) with members of his group to review the progress of IMAT. Various other related subjects were taken under consideration to be reported upon at the Executive Board Meeting on Saturday.
During the afternoon, Board Members journeyed to the Royal Oaks Golf Club in Vancouver, Washington where the Annual MCAA Executive Board Golf Tournament was held. Winner of the golf trophy was Paul Clements of Louisville, Kentucky, with Mickey Soloff of Chattanooga, Tennessee carding the best low gross. Most durable golfer was Bob Tubesing from New Berlin, Wisconsin. On Friday evening, Members and their families gathered on the Thunderbird Motor Inn outdoor deck over the Columbia River to enjoy a fresh salmon bake, which was followed by dancing.
On Saturday morning, at 7:00 A.M., Board Members met for breakfast, and at 8:30 President Ebeling called the Executive Board Meeting into session. Reports were heard from the Officers and Regional Vice Presidents. Chairman of IMI, David Soloff, Jr., presented his report and, in addition, the report of Joe Szabo, Chairman of the Bricklayers and Trowel Trades International Pension Fund, was presented. Reports of Past Presidents Don Bidwell, David Soloff, and Charles Velardo were made, and Committee Chairmen filed their reports and made verbal summations of their programs and studies.
Chairman Tubesing of the Finance Committee then indicated to the Board Members that his Committee had met on Thursday morning to finalize the budget for the coming fiscal year. Each of the items was discussed, and a comparison of previous year's expenditures was made. After a thorough analysis of the budget, it was unanimously accepted by the Executive Board. Mr. Ebeling, as Chairman of the Apprenticeship Committee, reported briefly on IMAT. In addition, he presented a project for the Material Handling, Safety, and Apprenticeship Committees in the development of a Training Manual for Rough Terrain Fork Lifts.
President Ebeling then indicated that in accordance with the MCAA Constitution and By-Laws, Article XX, Section 1, the following were presented as members of the Nominating Committee: Eugene George, David Soloff, Jr., G. W. Veazey, Jr., Charles Velardo, Blaine Warner, and Jack J. Bailey and Roy Elam as alternates. They were unanimously accepted. There being no further business before the Executive Board Meeting, it adjourned at 12:31 P.M. Many Members of the Executive Board then journeyed to Victoria, British Columbia, to join in the activities of the International Masonry Institute's promotional meeting.
The young man had been courting the girl for over two years, but still had given no inclination of serious intentions. "I had a dream last night," he remarked one day. "I dreamed that I proposed to you. I wonder what that's a sign of?"
The girl was quick to reply: "It's a sign that you've got more sense asleep than awake." masonry • July, 1976 24
