# Scearce Heads FMCS
James Scearce has been confirmed by the Senate as the eighth national Director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. Scearce was appointed by W. J. Usery. Jr., as Deputy Director of the Service in April 1974, and has been acting Director of FMCS since Usery left for the Labor Department in February.


# ZONOLITE NAMES CAIN
John H. Cain has been named advertising manager, Zonolite products, for Construction Products Division, W. R. Grace & Co., Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cain joined Grace in 1972 as an advertising specialist following four years operating his own advertising services company. He spent twelve years with National Radio Company, Inc., culminating in the position of manager of support services.

In his new capacity he will direct the advertising and promotional activities on Zonolite insulation and fire protection products, roof deck and wall systems, and various Zonolite industrial applications. Cain attended Boston University and Northeastern University. Married to the former Helen Lakus and father of five he lives in Chelmsford, Massachusetts (30 Maple Road).


# FORM C/M ASSOCIATION
A group of Missouri Concrete Masonry manufacturers recently held a meeting in Jefferson City to form the Missouri Concrete Masonry Association. The group will be comprised of approximately 25 member plants. Officers elected are: President, Ron Ohmes, F.F. Kirchner, Inc.; Vice President, Carl Williamson, City Block Co.: and Secretary-Treasurer, Leroy Yarbrough, Stewart-Nattinger, Inc.

The St. Louis Masonry Development Trust has been renamed the Masonry Institute of St. Louis in order to better describe the purpose of the organization. Harold "Hal" Campbell has been appointed Huber/Essick/Smith District Manager for the Pacific Northwest.. James C. Dalton has been named a field representative for Bay State Abrasives.... The appointment of Donald L. Pursley as General Manager for Norton Company's Safety Products Division has been announced by Frederick G. Crocker, Jr., Div. Vice President and Manager. Construction Products Div., W. R. Grace & Co. has announced that Dr. Larry S. Shu will head research activity for Zonolite fire protection products and Robert W. # Re-elect Gierlaszynski
Stanley Gierlaszynski, president of Chesterfield Mason Contractors, Inc., Center Line, Michigan has been re-elected as president of the Detroit Mason Contractors Association for 1976. All other officers also were re-elected by the association's Board of Directors. They are: Howard Hicks, Ebeling & Hicks, Inc. Romeo, vice president: John Hart, Leidal & Hart Mason Contractors, Inc., Livonia, secretary, and Walter Pivetta, Louis Pivetta & Son, Livonia, treasurer.

At the association's annual meeting. Gierlaszynski and Robert Nowak, R. C. Nowak Co., Inc. won re-election to new three-year terms on the DMCA Board of Directors, as did Howard Hicks. Elected to his first term on the board was John Gleeson, Clarence Gleeson, Inc., New Hudson.
