CMCA Elects Eatherton
Norm Eatherton, recently elected as President of the Colorado Mason Contractors Association, joined the organization in 1955. During the twenty years as a member he has served on various committees, as trustee and recently as Vice President. In 1975 he was Chairman of the Masonry Advancement Program. He started his firm, Eatherton Masonry, Inc. in 1954.
Norm's family includes his wife Bonna Jean, a daughter, Norma, and two sons, Gordon and David.
Elect Directors
At the Annual Membership Meeting of the Masonry Institute of Maryland held on January 15th, the following Board Members were elected: Carl Fulco, Carl Fulco, Inc.; Charles T. Ward, Martin Marietta Cement Co., and Harry Miller, Henry J. Knott, Inc.
The Masonry Institute of Maryland has moved to new quarters-2313 St. Paul St., Baltimore, Md. 21218.
Milwaukee Seminar
MCAA's seventh Masonry Estimating Seminar, in its newly revised format, was held March 19th and 20th at the Sheraton-Mayfair Hotel, Wauwatosa, Wis., under the sponsorship of the Mason Contractors Association of Milwaukee. Forty persons were in attendance bringing the total for the seminars to approximately 300.
Jerry Pope, Greeley, Colorado, was the featured lecturer, and the course was under the direction of the Association's Education Committee Chairman Robert L. Harrison.
Estimating Seminar Schedule
MCAA's Masonry Estimating Seminar-which has won high praises from over three hundred persons who have attended the eight presentations-is scheduled during the next several months in a wide cross section of the country to allow those who missed the course previously to benefit from this vital management information.
During the Spring, the Seminar is scheduled:
* May 21-22 at the Sheraton LaGuardia Hotel, East Elmhurst, New York, sponsored by the Associated Brick Mason Contractors of Greater New York
* June 4-5 in St. Louis, Missouri, sponsored by the Mason Contractors Association of St. Louis
* June 10-11 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, sponsored by the Mason Contractors Association of Chattanooga
Featured lecturer for these seminars is Jerry G. Pope, Hensel Phelps Construction Company, Greeley, Colorado. Discussions at the Seminar will revolve around MCAA's "Masonry Estimating... For A Profit", authored by Mr. Pope.
Firms interested in attending are encouraged to send their top executive AND chief estimator because team action and coordination are considered top priorities.

Receives Contribution
The Masonry Industry Program of Arizona has received the first contribution from a block manufatcuring firm under an amended trust agreement that includes plant employees. Superlite Builders Supply, Inc. of Phoenix turned over the funds, which were earmarked for promotional use of concrete masonry units through the plant employees' collective bargaining agreement.
Under the special plant employee agreement in effect since October 1974, Superlite and other participating manufacturing firms are permitted to contribute a certain amount for each man-hour worked to the MIP promotional trust fund.
Honor Richardson
Thomas F. Richardson, former Executive Director of the Minnesota Masonry Institute and current Minnesota District Manager of Martin Marietta Cement, Northern Division, was presented for his outstanding achievement in masonry promotion a plaque from Sidney A. Mosman, President of the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota Masonry Institute.
