New Administrative Assistant in the Mason Contractors Association of Utah's office is Raone Bagley. New Trustees appointed to serve on the board for the Masonry Advancement Program of Colorado are Clyde Clayburn and Jerry Grosvenor. Werner Ellmann has joined Sweet's Division of MeGraw-Hill Information Systems Company as District Manager. Newly elected President of BIA Region 5 is Armour Johnson of Marion Brick Corp. The 5th Annual "Spring Kickoff" Dinner Dance of the Minnesota Concrete & Masonry Contractors Association was held April 10th at the Decathlon Athletic Club in Bloomington.

John Francis O'Connell retired, as of January 31st, as Vice Chairman and member of the Executive Committee of the Bechtel group. Jerry Isenburg has recently been appointed to the new position of Technical Director of the Unit Masonry Association of Greater Cincinnati. David S. Fields has been named Corporate Controller of General Portland Inc. William F. McCord has been promoted to Vice President, finance and administration, and E.G. Anderson to Vice President and Treasurer of the Construction Products Division, W.R. Grace & Co.

Raymond Simpson, a Hilton employee for 25 years retired on Dec. 31, 1975. As sales manager in the central division Ray assisted in the placement of many MCAA meeting. He will be greatly missed. Michael M. Brenner has been promoted to communications manager of the Gypsum Association. David G. Stenberg, President, Huron Cement Co., has been appointed chairman of Huron's executive committee.

On a college campus wall, someone had scrawled: "America is ugly!" Immediately below, someone had written: "Cut your hair so you can see it better."

Charles P. Perry, Capitol Aggregates, San Antonio, Texas, has been elected to the board of directors of the Portland Cement Association. The appointment of Gary E. Kruse as district sales supervisor for Norton Company's Safety Products Division has been announced by Blair R. Crum, national sales manager. The Commerce Department's National Bureau of Standards (NBS) has established a nationwide speakers bureau to provide information on the growing use of the metric system of weights and measures.

John W. Landis, Senior Vice President, Stone & Webster Engineering Corp., has been reelected to a second term as President of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
