Inc., Baltimore, Md., was elected president of Associated Equipment Distributors during the group's 58th annual meeting in San Francisco, Calif.. Robert F. Kizer, formerly president of Medusa Cement Co., Cleveland, Ohio, has been elected executive vice president of General Portland, Inc., Dallas, Texas, the nation's second largest cement manufacturer. Richard E. Reuss has been appointed group vice president/adminstration & finance, for the Portland Cement Association, Skokie, III.

There are many people in this country, notes "Good Reading," who would have a much fatter wallet if they would simply remove the credit cards from it.

Elbert L. Bradshaw, president, Linaburry Brick & Block Co., Indianapolis, Ind., has been elected board chairman of the National Concrete Masonry Association, and Milton J. Lee, president of Domine Builders. Supply Corp., Rochester, N.Y. has been elected board chairman-elect. Both were installed in office during the association's recent annual convention in Kansas City, Mo. James A. Keller has been elevated to industrial sales planning manager/North America, Massey-Ferguson, Inc., Des Moines, Ia. John L. Wright has been elected president of Southwest Vermiculite Co., Inc., Albuquerque, N.Μ.

Stone Construction Equipment, Inc., Honeoye, N.Y., has announced the appointment of Ken Hollinger as marketing manager. Dwight E. Howell has been appointed manager, commercial sales for the Building Products Operating Division of Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp., Toledo, Ohio. Cushion Cut, Inc., Harbor City, Calif., manufacturer of diamond saw blades and core bits, has announced the acquisition of Concrete Safety Equipment, Inc., Los Angeles. The latter firm manufactures and leases specialized equipment used to grind and groove highways and airport runways... Boyd Child, vice president, Child Construction Co., Salt Lake City, has been named Subcontractor of the Year by the Associated General Contractors of Utah.

Maurice Freedman, P.E., has been elected principal in the planning/architecture/landscape architecture/civil engineering firm of Sasaki Associates, Inc., Watertown, Mass. and Coral Gables, Fla. The appointment of Gerald A. Bayer as advertising manager, general trades for its Marketing Communications Department has been announced by Norton Co.'s Abrasives Marketing Group, Worcester, Mass. Acme Brick Co., Fort Worth, Texas, has announced two executive appointments: Gerald R. Jewell to regional sales manager for the Louisiana-Mississippi region and Harold E. Melton to general sales manager of the company.


Mumford In Labor Post

John B. Mumford is the new Deputy Assistant Secretary for Employment Standards. He was a White House Fellow in 1973 assigned to the Secretary of Labor as a special assistant. He returned to the Labor Department in 1975, serving as consultant to the Secretary of Labor and then as special assistant to the Secretary.

A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., he earned a master of business administration degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.


BC/EC Dates Announced

Dates and site for the second annual Building & Construction Exposition & Conference (BC/EC) have been anounced. They are November 1-3, 1977, in Chicago's McCormick Place.

The trade show is sponsored by The Producers' Council, Inc., Washington (D.C.)-based representatives of construction product manufacturers. The first show was held last November in McCormick Place and drew some 16,000 visitors from the United States and 34 foreign countries.
