IMI AIMS AT LOADBEARING MARKET
continued from page 12

It was reported to the Board that 61 collective bargaining agreements now call for contributions of two cents or more per hour worked to IMI, and that additional agreements including increased IMI contributions are being received steadily.

IMI Board Chairman Charles Velardo and International Bricklayers' Union President Thomas F. Murphy said in a joint statement that the Institute's plans for 1978 "are broad in scope and vigorous in their approach. They will be another important step forward in IMI's continuing efforts to give the masonry industry the kind of effective promotion program it needs in order to insure jobs for workers and business for contractors."

The IMI Board is composed of Trustees named by the Mason Contractors Association of America, and Advisors named by the International Bricklayers' Union. In addition to Chairman Velardo and President Murphy, the Board members are Trustees Eugene George. Donald Bidwell. David Soloff, Jr., and George Miller, and Advisors John T. Joyce, Edward Bellucci, James Richardson and L. Gerald Carlisle.

WHAT'S A BILLION?
Most people in Washington have lost sight of what a billion dollars is.

One billion seconds ago, the first atomic bomb had not been exploded.

One billion minutes ago, Christ was still on earth.

One billion hours ago, men were still living in caves.

Yet, one billion dollars ago (in terms of government spending) was yesterday.
