Solar Energy Markets Approaching $1 Billion
Markets for solar energy equipment have quadrupled in the past two years and will skyrocket almost to the $1 billion level by 1985. This is the prediction carried in a 182-page report from International Resource Development, Inc., a market research consulting firm.
According to the report, Solar Energy Equipment, the initial growth of the market will be heavily dependent upon state and federal subsidies and tax incentives. By the early 1980's, however, the IRD consultants consider it likely that new technological developments, coupled with a steady rise in the cost of conventional fuels, will make solar energy competitive in an increasing range of applications.
Further details on the report, including a free table of contents and description, are availble from IRD at 125 Elm St., P.O. Box 1131, New Canaan, Conn. 06840.
