Brown is president and board chairman of Dee Brown Masonry, Inc. and has long been active in masonry industry affairs. In addition to serving on the IMI Board, he is a director of the Texas State Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Bricklayers, and chairman of the board of trustees of the Bricklayers Pension Fund and the Health and Welfare. Brown became an IMI trustee at the organization's August 3 Board meeting in Washington, D.C. IMI is an international masonry promotion trust jointly created by the Mason Contractors Association of America and the International Union of Bricklayers. and Allied Craftsmen (BAC). It is active in both the U.S. and Canada.
