A civil engineering graduate of Wayne State University, Catanzarite formerly was staff engineer and branch manager for Michigan Testing Engineers in Detroit...Frederick H. Yahr. president of Bend Industries, West Bend, Wis.. has been elected to a five-year term on the board of the National Concrete Masonry Association.

The Prime-Mover Co., Muscatine. la.. has announced two management promotions. Paul R. Jorgensen has been named manager of construction equipment sales, a new post, and Stephen J. Webber has been appointed regional sales manager for the eastern construction equipment market.. Lawrence Bretta, Somerville. Mass., has been named New England regional administrator for the U.S. General Services Administration. John Carter of General Shale. Products has been elected president of the Brick Institute of America's Region 5. Others elected were: Tom Carney, Peoria Brick & Tile, vice president; C. T. Richards, Richards Brick Co., treasurer, and Hugh MacDonald, Region 5 executive director, secretary. The elections took place at Region 5's first annual meeting at its new headquarters in Oakbrook Terrace, III.

Bay State Abrasives Division of Dresser Industries, Inc., Westborough. Mass., has announced the appointment of John D. Sigetich as national marketing manager for its California-based Felker Operations... William Ross, formerly supervisor for the Council Bluffs (la.) Public School System, has been named executive director of the newly chartered Nebraska Masonry Institute Trust Omaha... Norman Strickland has been elevated to plant superintendent of Pacific Clay Building Products' Alberhill installation in California...U.S. Steel's Universal Atlas Cement Division has made two new management appointments at its Pittsburgh headquarters. C. Fred Greene has been named director of operating services and Ronald F. Gebhardt manager of process and quality.

The National Insulation Contractors Association has appointed Curtis T. Mackey executive vice president. Mackey is a retired lieutenant colonel from the Army Corps of Engineers... Two promotions in the Central Region of Universal Atlas Cement, Chicago, III., have been announced. Eugene J. Dwyer has been appointed manager of sales, and Kai Thorup, Jr., succeeds Dwyer as Chicago district sales manager... The Masonry Institute of Oklahoma's first executive director is Paul LaVene, formerly architectural representative for Thomas Concrete Products and Acme Brick in Oklahoma City...The National Concrete Masonry Association has appointed Arnold P. Caputo, formerly vice presi dent of Plasticrete Corp., as manager of national accounts and government liaison.
