Milwaukee Art Center
Collects Wright's Work
The Prairie Archives of the Milwaukee Art Center has announced receipt of a Ford Foundation grant to undertake photographic documentation of drawings by Frank Lloyd Wright now in private and institutional collections.
The intent of the project is to ensure a record of the legacy of the world-famous architect and contribute to the ever-increasing research into his philosophy and work. More than 80 original drawings have been located and identified so far.
The Prairie Archives would appreciate any additional information as to the whereabouts of Wright's drawings. Contact either Brian A. Spencer, Architect, 3755 E. Poinsetta Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85028, or Edgar A. Tafel, Architect, 14 E. 11th St., New York, NY 10003.

Foundation Elects
First Officers
The new Masonry Research Foundation created by the Masonry Industry Committee (Masonry, Feb., 1979) has held its first organizational meeting and elected its first set of officers. John T. Joyce, secretary of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen (BAC) and an International Masonry Institute (IMI) advisor, was chosen as president of the Foundation. Paul Lenchuk, president, National Concrete Masonry Association, was elected vice president of the Foundation. George A. Miller, executive vice president, Mason Contractors Association of America and an IMI trustee, was elected secretary. The new treasurer is John P. "Jay" Gleason, president of the Brick Institute of America.
IMI is represented on the Foundation's Board of Directors.
The new president of the Masonry Research Foundation has set as his first goal the naming of members to a Research Advisory Council that will review proposals for masonry projects, set priorities for research, and develop means of funding those projects that the Foundation sponsors.
Members of the Council selected are expected to be "outstanding individuals who know the building industry and the needs of the industry's customers, and who can provide the Foundation with experience and sensitive counsel."
