Masonry Institute of Dayton Confers Architecture Awards
Architectural Excellence Award-Grandview Ambulatory Care Center.

The Mason Contractors Association of Dayton, co-host of the awards banquet held at the Miami Valley Country Club on December 8. 1978, gave Masonry Craftsman Awards to Hoying Masonry Co. for the Grandview Ambulatory Care Center, and to I. F. Weber Co. for the Greene County District Library.
The Masonry Institute of Dayton is a service organization that represents both labor and management and is supported by manufacturing and distribution facets of the masonry industry in the Greater Miami Valley.
Award of Merit-Greene County District Library.
More than 250 persons, including some 50 architects and their wives, attended the sixth annual "Excellence Awards In Masonry" program sponsored by the Masonry Institute of Dayton.
The event was further enhanced by Mayor James H. McGee's proclamation declaring "Masonry Day in the Greater Dayton Area." The proclamation recognized the "important contributions made by the masonry industry and its dedication to the further improvement of this historic building art."
On hand to make the presentations was City Commissioner Richard Zimmer, who represented the City of Dayton.
Capturing the Architectural Excellence Award was the firm of Eugene W. Betz, Architect, Inc. for its design of the Grandview Ambulatory Care Center. Richard Shell & Associates garnered the Excellence In Engineering Award for the same project.
