Elect Slate of Officers for 1980
The Construction Industry Manufacturers Association, based in Milwaukee, Wis., elected five 1980 officers and 11 directors during the national trade group's recent Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
Elected president was Marion Dietrich, executive vice president of Cummins Engine Co., Columbus, Ind. Elected to serve with him were: 1st vice president, James Gorman, president of Gorman-Rupp Co., Mansfield, Ohio: 2nd vice president, Charles Eggen, vice president/marketing of Northwest Engineering Co., Green Bay, Wis.; treasurer, Gary Godbersen, executive vice president of Gomaco Corp., Ida Grove, lowa, and secretary, John Benson, who is also CIMA's full-time executive director in Milwaukee.
Gorman was reelected to a three-year term on the association's board of directors, and Eggen was elected to a three-year director's term. Also elected to serve as directors for three years, in addition to Gorman and Eggen, were: Robert DeFreitas, vice president/publisher, Cahners Publishing Co., Chicago, Ill.; Robert Gerstenberger, senior vice president, Deere & Co., Moline, III.; Bruno Getz, president, Blaw-Knox Construction Equipment, Inc., Mattoon, III.; Vern Iserman, president, United Equipment Accessories, Inc., Waverly, lowa; Robert Maynard, senior vice president, Grove Manufacturing Co., Shady Grove, Pa.; John McKeon, vice president/general manager, FMC Corp., Bannockburn, III.; William Mulligan, executive vice president, Ingersoll-Rand, Woodcliff Lake, N.J., and William Rebone, vice president/general manager, Rockwell International/ Off-Highway Division, Troy, Mich.
Elected as a director to fill a 2-year unexpired term was E. J. "Mike" Elliott, president, General Combustion Corp., Orlando, Fla.
The Construction Industry Manufacturers Association (CIMA) represents 200 companies which manufacture heavy equipment and related components used in the general construction, housing, roadbuilding, mining, energy and forestry fields. These firms record more than $15 billion a year in worldwide sales, accounting for 95 percent of annual U.S. sales of construction machinery and more than 50 percent of yearly worldwide construction equipment sales.
