Professional football player (Oakland Raiders, Chicago Cardinals, Dallas Texans and Hamilton, Ont., Tiger Cats), has been named manager of **Sherman-Denison Concrete, Inc.**, which was recently purchased by **Jackson Concrete, Inc.**, Lake Dallas, Tex. **Denis Gallagher and Joel Van Westerhuyzen** have been named district sales managers for **Preway, Inc.**, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. **Lawrence Hammonds** has been appointed northeast regional sales manager.




MCCA member **Dick Nauman**, 405 W. Madison St., Metamora, IL 61548, is home recuperating from a heart attack he suffered on June 21. His wife, Pat, reports that Dick is an "ideal patient" after spending two and one-half weeks in the hospital. He now is walking up to one and one-half miles every morning and evening, and does one hour of monitored exercising three day a week in the hospital's rehabilitation program. Dick's and Pat's sons are running the mason contracting business while their father recuperates, and "have met the challenge quite nicely." Our best wishes to Dick for a swift and complete recovery.




**Lester Kuzmick** has been named executive vice president of **Cushion Cut, Inc.**, Torrance, Calif. **Flint-kote Lime Co.** has appointed **Jim Andrews** as sales rep to work out its Salt Lake City office, handling sales of Flintkote Type S lime for masonry mortar and plaster. **Wolfgang S. Weber** is the new regional sales rep for the Rocky Mountain region for **Buchtal-USA**, headquartered in Atlanta, Ga. **Mike Pittman** has been promoted to sales rep for **Dayton Sure-Grip & Shore Co.'s** western central region. He will cover an 11-state area extending from Illinois to Montana and from Minnesota to Missouri.




**David Roever** has been named a district sales manager for the Consumer Division of **W.R. Bonsal Co.** His territory includes portions of North and South Carolina and the Tri Cities of Tennessee. **Kirchner Industries, Inc.**, Bridgeton, Mo., manufacturer of concrete masonry products, has elected **Authur Stross** vice president of the firm. **William L. Dolch**, professor of engineering materials, School of Civil Engineering, Purdue University, has been elected chairman of ASTM Committee C-1 on Cement. **Huntington/Pacific Ceramics, Inc.**, Santa Fe Springs, Calif., has named **Douglas B. Cook** regional sales manager for a 13-state area from the Texas Rio Grande Valley to the Canadian border.




**Royal Higbee** has been elected president of the **Masonry Institute of Washington**, replacing Bill Blackstock, who had held that post for the past two years. **Lawrence B. Simons**, assistant secretary for Housing/ Federal Housing Commissioner, Department of Housing & Urban Development, is the first recipient of the **National Housing Rehabilitation Association's Man of the Year** award. **Robert S. Boynton**, retired executive director of the National Lime Association, is the 1980 recipient of the Walter C. Voss Award presented by the American Society for Testing & Materials. **Polar Chip, Inc.**, Irvine, Calif., has named **Gene J. Adams** sales manager for its newly acquired line of Polar-Crete Products.
