Mann Joins BANC in Gov't Relations Post

Michael R. Mann, former aide to U.S. Senator Robert Morgan (D-N.C.) has joined the Brick Association of North Carolina staff as director of public and government relations. Prior to joining the U.S. Senate staff as legislative aide, Mann was an administrative assistant with the North Carolina Department of Justice.

During his tenure with Sen. Morgan, Mann was responsible for much legislation affecting the housing industry. He also served as Sen. Morgan's liaison between the federal, state and local governments and the general public.

Mann earned a business administration degree from Campbell University and was enrolled in the public administration masters degree program at American University in Washinton, DC.

People rarely succeed at anything unless they have fun doing it.


MCA of Oklahoma Presents Scholarship Grant

The Mason Contractors Association of Oklahoma recently presented its first scholarship through its Masonry Advancement Fund. Tom Hendrick (center), a civil engineering senior at the University of Oklahoma, received a $500 grant, the first in a new program designed to promote education in masonry design. Presenting the award were Don Larrabee (right), vice president of the MCA of Oklahoma, and Raymond Allen (left), business agent for Bricklayers Local #1 of Oklahoma City.
