James E. Williams, president of Williams Equipment & Supply Co., Memphis, Tenn., has been elected 1982 president of Associated Equipment Distributors, Oak Brook, Ill. Arthur M. Schiller, former counsel to the Laborers' International Union, has established law offices at Suite 610, 1900 M St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036, (202) 223-9475. He is specializing in the practice of labor and employment law. J. Fike Godfrey, former vice president for public affairs of The Western Co. of North America, Fort Worth, Texas, has been named head of the GSA's Region 7 headquartered in Fort Worth and including Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
Tamms Industries Co., Itasca, Ill., a major producer of masonry coating systems, has appointed Paul von Wymetal director of international sales. Tamms is currently represented in 26 countries throughout Western Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. James W. Suft has been named vice president/construction management division, southwestern division, The Koll Co., Newport Beach, Calif. Koll is one of the west's largest construction management/general contractor developers. F. F. Kirchner, Inc., St. Louis, Mo., has announced a major interstate sale of Romanstone pavers to Hastings Pavement Co., Inc., Lake Success, N.Y. The pavers will be used in the construction of a major parking garage complex in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Paul Gallagher has been appointed assistant to Neil Fraser, executive director of the Canadian Masonry Contractors Association. The recipient of a masters of labor relations degree from St. Francis of Loretto College in Pennsylvania, Gallagher will assist with both labor and public relations at CMCA. Mark A. Nunn, a 1981 civil engineering graduate of the University of West Virginia, has joined the Engineering & Research Division of the Brick Institute of America. John Kerwin has been promoted to vice president/construction and development of Marblehead Lime Co., Chicago, Ill. The General Services Administration has named John B. Platt administrator of GSA's Region 6 with headquarters in Kansas City, Mo. M. David Egan, associate professor of architectural engineering, Clemson University, has received the 1981 Faculty Intern Program Award Certificate from the American Society of Testing & Materials.
