His comment about the rapidly expanding field of masonry panel anchoring systems: "Connection of the stone veneer to the building frame has become an exceedingly complex task with involvement of the architect, structural engineer and the mason contractor. Numerous factors must be considered in the selection of the attachment systems, hence the purpose of this seminar to provide the latest state-of-the-art art techniques to facilitate ease of panel installation for the mason contractor."
# MASONRY ESTIMATING FOR A PROFIT
Thursday, January 26, 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Friday, January 27, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
This course is part of the continuing series developed by the MCAA Management Institute. The lecturer for this session is Jerry G. Pope, well-known construction consultant headquartered in Greeley, Colo.
The course discussion will revolve around Mr. Pope's manual. Masonry Estimating For a Profit, now in its second edition. The course is divided into six parts, which take you from the beginning of estimating procedures on through the surveys, bidding strategy, manpower allocations, and the final reports and cost summaries.
This is an ideal course for new estimating personnel as well as valuable refresher study for industry veterans. The manual provides an excellent reference not only for the course but for future use.
