MCAA was saddened by the recent deaths of two long-time staffers of the Masonry Institute of Michigan-Floyd S. Nixon, Jr., MIM president, and Ronald J. Hurta, MIM industry coordinator and publisher of The Story Pole for over 10 years. Anthony A. Foust, AIA, formerly with the Facilities Management Institute, has joined Harley Ellinton Pierce Yee Associates, Southfield, Mich., as assistant director of design.

McGraw-Hill Information Systems Co., New York, N.Y., has announced two executive appointments: Perry B. Sells as v.p. & g.m. of the Sweet's division and Frederick P. Jannott as exec. v.p. of the firm's construction group. McMahon Architects, Inc., St. Louis, Mo., has promoted June Seiller to office manager. She previously was special projects director.

MCAA executive vice president George A. Miller attended a recent briefing at the White House by the National Construction Industry Council. Participating in the presentations were William Bradford Reynolds, Assistant Attorney General, Civil Rights Division: Manual Johnson, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy, and Lester Lamm, Deputy Administrator, Federal Highway Administration.

Charles A. Francik has been named v.p./manufacturing of Pittsburgh Corning Corp. and a member of the board of Pittsburgh Corning Europe. Koehring Construction Equipment, Port Washington, Wis., has appointed Gary Cooper as district sales manager for its Western U.S. territory. Donald E. Granowicz has been named director of domestic and international sales for Koehring Cranes & Excavators, Milwaukee, Wis.
