recipients of the Award were: James Richardson, Retired Executive Vice President of BAC and Stan Misunas, Editor, Masonry Magazine. President Brown then presented his report to the 1987 Conference of the Mason Contractors Association of America. He discussed in detail a series of events concerning the structure of MCAA and its relationship to other organizations within the industry. Following his in-depth report there were various announcements and the convention recessed to the '87 MCAA Trade Show. On Monday, March 16, 1987 at 2:00 P.M., MCAA President Dee Brown convened a Masonry Industry Summit Meeting with key representatives from ten National Masonry Organizations in attendance. The purpose of this meeting was to study the possibility of developing a long and short range plan of action for the Masonry Industry. The group unanimously adopted a statement of masonry partnership which reads as follows:

STATEMENT OF MASONRY PARTNERSHIP

In recognition of their mutual interests, national organizations representing the producers and distributors of masonry materials, installers and designers have announced formation of a partnership dedicated to the improvement of masonry materials, construction practices, design and technologies and education. The partnership's objectives will be to provide the public with a more economical, efficient and reliable system as a viable building alternative.

The Masonry Summit Meeting held on Monday, March 16th, was attended by key representatives of ten national organizations directly involved in the Masonry Industry. Presiding at this inaugural meeting was MCAA President Dee Brown.
