The Tuesday morning session featured speakers from the material producing segment of the masonry industry. WHEREAS the MCAA was formed to promote and advance our industry, as well as to promote and encourage greater co-operation between employers and employees, and WHEREAS the MCAA recognizes the authority its Executive Board has to negotiate collective bargaining agreements that are binding upon all of its Regular Members., and WHEREAS the MCAA recognized the need to add an additional class of non-voting Participating Member, to be known as an Independent Member, Therefore, be it resolved that:

1. That the membership, by at least a two-thirds vote, suspend Article XXI AMENDMENTS.
2. That Article XXIV LABOR RELATIONS be deleted, in its entirety.
3. That the following be added to Article XV EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, Section 2 AUTHORITY "including full and complete authority to bind all Regular Members of the MCAA to Collective Bargaining Agreements negotiated with Labor Organizations."
4. That Article III MEMBERSHIP, Section 1, PARTIC-IPATING MEMBERS be amended by the addition of a new class of member to be known as an Independent Member.

Further bulletins from the Executive Office will be forthcoming to set forth the procedures and forms to be utilized. The meeting was adjourned by President Brown after he announced that the Summer Board Meeting would be held at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa, Canada, July 8-12, with the '88 MCAA Masonry Conference and Trade Show to be held March 2-9 at the Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee.
